Are We Under Threat from the Muslim World...

Imam Feisal Rauf is in the news again, warning America that violence may break out if the ground zero mosque is not built.

In a CNN interview Feisal says "if you don't do this right, anger will explode in the muslim world, if this is not handled correctly this crisis could become much bigger than the Danish cartoon crisis which has altered in attacks in Danish embassy and various parts of the world... and we have a much larger footprint in the muslim world, if we don't handle this crisis correctly it could be something that can become something really, really, dangerous."

Well that sounds ominous doesn't it?  I'm not even sure that Feisal meant to threaten us but, the warning he is broadcasting could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Already Anti-American muslim agitators have gathered up folks in Afghanistan, people who actually have no clue on what this controversy is even about...  How do I know that?  Well many Afghans can't read, many do not have electricity... the delivery of news in that country come from propaganda.

Here most are still willing to give Imam Feisal Rauf the benefit of the doubt even though he is misguided in the mosque adventure.  Rauf himself may now understand that.  In that same interview on CNN he goes on to say "If I knew this would have happened, If I knew it would cause this kind of pain, I wouldn't have done it.  My life has been devoted to peace making"

But, Imam should have know... building an Islamic community center just yards away from where muslims attacked us?  What did Imam think was going to happen...

If he would have stated that the community center was being built to condemn jihad, to announce that muslim extremism is evil, then I might even be on board and so would almost everyone else.

Thats not his intent though, all I keep hearing from him and the liberal media is that we need to tolerate it.

When a muslim cleric announces to the world that member of his own religion might kill because of opposed to a mosque, there's a problem.  When a published cartoon leads to violence, there's a problem.

Thats what we are objecting to...  The continuing threat from muslims who will use any excuse to murder innocent human beings.

If  Imam Rauf and other muslim leaders would unite against that threat, there would be very little controversy or need for tolerance because we would all be in it together.

  1. I think your headline is a bit too suggestive. It should be something along the lines of "Mosque builder warns religious intolerance will embolden radical Islam".

Which, by the way is the message he was trying to get across. If the Mosque is not built because of xenophobic complainers, the sensationalist element overseas would seize the opportunity to portray Americans as intolerant enemies of Islam.

The "ground zero mosque" is not "yards away", it's two blocks away. And it's not just a Mosque, it's a community center open to the public with a basketball court as well as other things. You don't call a hospital a church because it has a chapel inside of it. Not to mention, it's an old Burlington Coat Factory. Private property, for private sale. How can you call it a "ground zero mosque", when it's not at ground zero, and not strictly a mosque? This is nothing but fear-mongering xenophobia. More than 50 Muslims died at ground zero (aside from the hijackers), they do not deserve a place to worship and reflect? The pentagon has a non-denominational chapel where there are services held for all religions including services for Muslims, 80 feet from where the terrorists attacked. Where's the uproar for this?

You yourself say that many don't have electricity or cannot read, is this the message you want to reach their ears? This attitude emboldens the enemy and gives them fuel for the fire. If you truly are against terrorism and radical Islam, you would support the construction of the mosque because it would give them no argument to empower them.
