Code Orange Revival Day 1

The Code Orange Revival hosted by my Church "Elevation Church" is here.  12 nights of knock-down dragout preaching...from some of the top preachers in the world.  Yes, in the WORLD.  


The night started out with some of the most amazing worship songs I have seen to date.  Elevation Worship blew the doors off last night and I want to say... it really got me ready to hear some great preaching!

The opening night started with Lifechurch.tv's lead pastor Craig Groeschel.  It was pretty incredible.

The sermon was packed with content and challenges.

At one point, Pastor Craig was talking about how he went in front of an ordination board and was rejected. They said he was too wild. Maybe not conservative enough. Clearly, God was not done with him. Pastor Craig then went on to talk about how so many churches have three primary restrictions when looking for a pastor:

• Must have at least five years experience. 
• Must have a degree from seminary. 
• Must be married. 

If this were the case, then Jesus himself, wouldn’t meet the criteria to pastor their churches. What’s my point? The point is that we need to stop looking for approval from society and the worldly standards. Romans 8:28 says that “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” We are all qualified to spread the Gospel. There is no degree required to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

I would say, for me.. the biggest point though came when Pastor Craig spoke about generosity. He talked about a visit to a 3rd world country and how the woman he stayed with saved for 6 months to provide him a piece of meat for dinner (trust me this wasn't filet) and how that kind of generosity is absent in most of our lives. He spoke about how instead of scheming on how to GET more, we should be scheming of ways that we can GIVE more. It was a total inspiration for me in regard to my families general finances and the appreciation I have for my country.

Notes from a Christian...

Man, so its been a while since I have posted on here... probably due to the everyday nonsense of life and the road blocks it throws at us all... With that said, I have decided to take this thing in a whole new direction.

I have come to the realization that I don't want to just type to type... write to write... well you get the point.  

I want to transform this blog into a "note taking session" on our weekly sermons at Elevation Church...  I will get into what Elevation Church is and where it is located in the next few posts.  

I hope you all enjoy the blog and read it weekly!

1 Down 64 To Go...

As I started my 65 goals for 2011, so I decided to take a pretty logical approach to knocking some of these out.  Tackle the small tasks that could be completed within a week and knock those out first, along with that start tackling long term goals or goals that needed to completed over winter (example, don't miss a week of church all winter long) and then work forward from there!

So I give you my pledge:

 "I, Robert Cundiff will complete the below goals in order to be a more successful, healthy, upbeat, person. The goals are all relevant to my life as well as my families... I will not stray… Lets GET IT DONE!"

New way to 2011...

For years I had created vision boards, pictures of miles stones and achievements to remind me of the goals I set for myself.  Until recently, I didn't know how impactful those were... but, I have come to the conclusion that those were ultimately the key to successes I had experienced in my life...  Unfortunately, I have gotten away from them and as "the proof is in the pudding" goes, I have not been nearly as successful recently as I was in the past.

Did you know that 99% of Americans do not have personal goals that last past the second week of January? That's sad seeing that the goals are usually set the first week. 

The evidence that goals work and work incredibly well is irrefutable.

I read a story today that said:  In 1953, Yale did a study on their graduating seniors. They polled all of them to see who would be interested in a goal setting seminar.  Three percent of the seniors signed up and set goals for the three major areas of their lives: business, relationships, and health. They not only had specific goals, but they also had to know why they wanted it.

Perfection and Excellence...

It's been a few since I have wrote anything but, this morning heard something that I thought was brilliant and could not wait to share it with you all.

There's a great quote that's been attributed to Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn and others: "Ready, Fire, Aim!" At some point in life, we have to say it's "good enough" and take action.


At some point, we have to settle for "excellence" and go for it! I'm not talking about being sloppy or settling for mediocrity, but in most cases, excellence is good enough. Particularly if we are willing to fix our mistakes, learn from them and seek constant improvement, excellence is good enough.
